Associate Staff For New Programming Year
We are pleased to involve 12 associate professional staff to lead and facilitate the diverse menu of workshops, classes, and events during our Sept. 2011-Feb. 2012 semester:
Patricia Corey is the music director at St. Isaac Jogues parish in Chestertown, NY and also teaches elementary music at South Lewis School. Patty, her husband, Mike, and their “4, four-legged children” live in Lyons Falls, NY.
John Daubney is a writer, workshop and retreat presenter, and mentor who lives in Clifton Park, New York. For the past 25 years, John’s work has also included work as a professional counselor in the addictions field, and service as a music minister. His latest project reached completion in October of 2010 when his inspirational, nonfiction book, Those Who Walk with Fire, was published and released. John’s life had been dedicated to bringing people together in a variety of ways in order to foster community and self-discovery.
Eileen Davenport serves as adjunct faculty for the OECFL, & Formation for Ministry, and is currently the Assistant for Special Programs at St. Bernard’s School of Theology & Ministry in Albany. She holds a Masters in Theology from St. Bernard’s.
Francine Dempsey, CSJ is a retired college English teacher and a published writer of fiction and non-fiction. She has facilitated journal workshops for over twenty years.
Mary Glazer is a Quaker who lives in Ticonderoga. She is a spiritual director who was trained at Shalem Institute in Washington, D.C. Mary, with no artistic talent whatsoever, has found that coloring and doodling can indeed be a way to engage with God.
Lin Neil, CSJ is a Sister of St. Joseph who has ministered in education for over 30 years. Sister teaches theology and Environmental Science at Catholic Central High School in Troy. She has completed a Masters Degree in Earth Literacy from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana.
Daniel Nelson, OFM, Ph. D is a Franciscan priest, licensed clinical psychologist in New York State, and professor of psychology at Siena College, Loudonville, NY. In addition to his teaching and academic responsibilities, Fr. Dan maintains a small private practice of psychotherapy and spiritual direction predominantly with midlife men. He has presented nationally and internationally on topics of spirituality and psychology. He is a certified Sandplay therapist and teaching member of the International Society of Sandplay Therapy and Sandplay Therapists of America.
Fr. John O’Kane is the pastor of St. Isaac Jogues parish in Chestertown, NY and the sacramental minister of St. James parish in North Creek, NY. Before becoming a priest in 2004, he worked in human services for eleven years as a resident counsel with Warren Washington ARC, helping mentally disabled adults live independent in the community.
Joan Palmer’s successful Human Resource Consulting practice of over 25 years shifted to career and life planning where the focus is on” movement” and “change”. Her personal work took her to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA. She has assisted with workshops where personal insight, growth, and change have been the core of the training. Joan is a trained Soul Collage Facilitator, a Kripalu Yoga Dance Instructor, and a certified Myers/Briggs Instructor.
Donna Peabody is a retired educator of thirty – six years, who values the importance of a spiritual and balance life. She is a Soul Collage enthusiast, lover of poetry, the arts, writer, and yoga practitioner. Her joy is deeply felt surrounded by her family, friends, and working in her contemplative garden.
Bro. James Posluszny, CSC has been a member of the congregation of the Holy Cross since 1963. He was a teacher in elementary, secondary, and college levels in the U.S., Canada, and Tanzania in east Africa. He has also worked as a Pastoral associate and DRE in several parishes and done chaplaincy work in a number of jails in the Albany Diocese. In 1999, he became the director of North Country Ministry, a faith-based outreach organization in rural Warren County. Jim has a great love of Scripture and enjoys increasing people’s comfort with and understanding of scripture.
Joanne St. Hilaire, CSJ, is a Sister of St. Joseph and a spiritual director. She offers retreats and spiritual programs in retreat centers and parishes. Sister has two degrees in literature and graduate study in theology and spirituality.
